Suits standard 4 hole Pintle hook mounts. 4 x High Tensile Bolts and Nuts supplied.

The Pintle Hook origins developed in Agricultural and was then developed for Military purposes in the 40's.  Very popular if you are moving heavy loads.

Standard hole mounts are 85mm x 45mm

Towing Applications

Trailers and equipment designed for highway road towing within the stated capacities.

For off-road applications, reduce the capacity listed above by 25% and use in conjunction with swivel-type drawbars.

Warning: Do not exceed the vehicle manufacturers tow ball rating/capacities.

Mounting

  1. Use a mounting structure of sufficient strength to support the rated capacity of the Pintle hook.
  2. Use the whole pattern supplied with the pintlehook
  3. Use 4 x 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts.

Operating Instructions for Pintle Hook

  1. Before operation, Inspect for proper operation, worn, damaged or missing parts and secure mounting. Correct as required before use.
  2. Open latch by removing safety pin and lifting hook.
  3. Position drawbar eye over the horn of the Pintle and lower into place.
  4. Push latch closed and insert safety pin.

Maintenance

For proper performance, perform the following every 30,000 kilometres or 3 months, whichever comes first.

  1. Clean and inspect for proper operation.
  2. Inspect for worn, damaged or missing parts. Replace only with approved parts.
  3. Regularly lubricate latch and lock pivots with light oil lubricant.
  4. Check mounting bolts for proper tightness.
